A Quilt that goes the distance

Recently I made a small wholecloth quilt for my friend Neide who lives in Australia. I chose some favorite patterns to use in the design of the wholecloth, fitting them together in a manner I found to be pleasing. I included Neide's initials, the year made (2010) and my logo. I took the quilt on a quilters bus trip sponsored by one of our local quilt shops which took us through Wisconsin and Minnesota. While on the bus I sewed on the binding and sleeve and the custom label I made for Neide. Once the weekend was over I added Swarovski Crystals to enhance the initials, initials in the quilt as well as the year and logo and generally added sparkle to it. Now the quilt is on its journey to Sydney Australia with my love and good wishes for my friend. It has been an interesting journey that started with one piece of fabric and has traveled through the midwest and now on to Australia.
