Spring Fever

We had a big warmup with lots of sunshine to raise my spirits. It was so enjoyable to open windows and let in the fresh air. Of course it snowed on Saturday but now we know spring is really here. My energy level went way up too and I am so full of ideas for spring quilts.
Two weeks ago my quilt guild had their quilt show. The mood of the show was very electrifying with all the creativity on display. I had eight quilts in the show so I was extremely busy getting all of them ready for display and appraisal. Five of my eight quilts in the show were from vintage quilt tops. I really love to work with vintage pieces. It is very satisfying to me to complete a project that someone began years ago. I feel a real connection to the original maker and try to think of how they would like me to complete their dream.

The quilt in the picture is my 1940s Bingo Block Quilt. It was entirely hand pieced by the maker. I think that this maker had exceptional color sense in creating this quilt top with all the tiny pieces. This is a very cheerful looking quilt.
